About the product

Zeta Plus™ BC Series Filter Capsule with Activated Carbon Series Media contains activated carbon to decolorize and remove contaminants from process streams. The media can be used in applications where bulk activated carbon is used. Activated carbon particles and cellulose fibers mechanically filter contaminants while a positively charged polymer resin may adsorb negatively charged particles.

We offer five standard types of activated carbon to cover a broad range of applications. In many filtration applications, carbon is often the preferred option to absorb impurities and one of the most powerful absorbents available. Carbon is highly effective due to the vast surface area contained within a small footprint. One pound of carbon contains a surface area of approximately 100 to 125 acres and can absorb an extremely wide range of chemicals.

Our activated carbon media is also offered in three porosities to enable processing of solutions with different viscosities.

Scalability

Three capsule sizes are offered having surface areas of 25 cm2, 650 cm2 and 1300 cm2. The effective lenticular filter and vertical flow path design is preserved on these two larger Zeta Plus™ BC series filter capsules. The designs have proven effective for depth filtration systems and for consistent performance for all sizes.

  • Totally enclosed, sanitary design filter capsule significantly reduces time required for cleaning
  • In addition to activated carbon adsorption the filter media also may retain contaminants by mechanical entrapment and electrokinetic adsorption
  • Single-use capsule reduces the hassle of cartridge change outs and eliminates housing cleaning validation
  • All product components comply with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <88> Class VI 70°C Biological Reactivity, in vivo
