Product Details

Provide more efficient and effective NPWT for your patients with our 3M™ V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing, which is designed to reduce dressing changes by up to 67% per week* and reduce application time by up to 61%** compared to traditional 3M NPWT dressings and foam and a hybrid acrylic-silicone drape. In a porcine model on open wounds treated with negative pressure wound therapy, the percent of reepithelialization promoted was 1.6 times greater for wounds with the 3M™ V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing compared to 3M™ traditional NPWT foam dressing***. 3M™ V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing is compatible with 3M™ V.A.C.® Ulta Therapy Unit, 3M™ ActiV.A.C.™ Therapy Unit, 3M™ V.A.C.® Rx4 Therapy Unit and 3M™ V.A.C.® Simplicity Unit.

*Based on the V.A.C® Peel and Place dressing up to seven day wear time and the 3M™ V.A.C.® Granufoam dressing recommendation of dressing changes every two to three days

**In a simulated use test with 12 nurse and surgeon users. 3M™ V.A.C. Peel and Place dressing took, on average, 01:48 to apply whereas 3M™ traditional NPWT foam dressing and a hybrid acrylic-silicone drape took, on average, 04:40 to apply (p<0.01, Wilcoxon signed rank test).

V.A.C® Peel and Place Dressings provides:
Up to seven days wear time(1)*

Up to seven days wear time(1)*

The perforated, non-adherent layer allows for extended wear time and fewer dressing changes, giving clinicians the confidence to deliver sustained negative pressure wound therapy in a protected wound-healing environment. Compared to 3M traditional NPWT foam dressings, V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing has shown greater wound volume reduction and up to 2.4 times greater granulated tissue thickness in a porcine model on open wounds.(1)*

Patented, all-in-one dressing allows for easy, time-saving application with less training. Designed to cover the entire wound and surrounding tissue, the V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing eliminates the need to cut foam. As part of a simulated use test, nurses have rated it easier to use than 3M traditional NPWT foam dressings**. In a customer preference test, 10 of 10 patients reported no pain on removal.***

*In a simulated use test with 12 nurse and surgeon users. Average time of 01:48.

** In a simulated use test with 12 nurse and surgeon users where the mean rating was 5.8 out of 7 on a 7-point Likert scale; 83% of users rated 5 or higher (95% confidence interval: 55%, 95%)

** In-person survey (2020): Customer preference test of 10 users providing feedback about their experience in a hospital in Chile.

2.4 times greater granulation tissue thickness*

2.4 times greater granulation tissue thickness*

Compared to traditional 3M NPWT foam dressings, a V.A.C.® Therapy Unit and a V.A.C® Peel and Place Dressing provides 2.4x greater granulation tissue thickness* to promote healing.

*Information contained within conducted animal studies has not been evaluated in humans.

33%** greater wound volume reduction

33%** greater wound volume reduction

Compared to traditional 3M NPWT foam dressings, a V.A.C.® Therapy Unit and a V.A.C® Peel and Place Dressing provides 33%** greater wound volume reduction*.

*Information contained within conducted animal studies has not been evaluated in humans.

**This was calculated based on an 87.8% wound fill at day 7 for Peel and Place dressing versus 65.7% wound fill at day 7 for 3M™ traditional NPWT foam dressing in the no dressing change group (presented as 1.3 times greater in the paper).

Designed with patient care and comfort in mind, our V.A.C® Peel and Place Dressings feature an integrated, perforated, non-adherent layer that minimizes the risk of tissue ingrowth in foam. Our innovative dressing design also reduces the risk of bleeding and the potential for foam adhesion to the wound bed, making dressing changes less painful for your patients.

Suggested Applications

  • When used on open wounds, the system is intended to create an environment that promotes wound healing by secondary or tertiary (delayed primary) intention by preparing the wound bed for closure, reducing edema, promoting granulation tissue formation and perfusion and by removing exudate and infectious material. Open wound types include: chronic, acute, traumatic, subacute and dehisced wounds, partialthickness burns, ulcers (such as diabetic, pressure or venous insufficiency), flaps and grafts
  • The 3M™ V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing is intended to be applied in an acute, extended, or home care setting where product application is conducted by or under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals. It is an accessory to the 3M™ Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System
  • It is designed to easily conform to wounds up to 6 centimeters in depth that have less than 2 centimeters of undermining with no tunneling
  • Small dressing designed to conform to wounds up to 2 centimeters in depth
  • Medium dressing designed to conform to wounds up to 4 centimeters in depth
  • Large dressing designed to conform to wounds up to 6 centimeters in depth
  • V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing can be applied directly to periwound tissue, making dressing irregular shaped wounds like flaps, grafts and VLUs easy
