Miki Patterson
Miki Patterson is a certified orthopedic nurse practitioner and brings over 25 years of clinical experience in health care consulting, direct advanced orthopedic patient care, university-level teaching, quantitative and qualitative National Institutes of Health (NIH) research and publishing. She received her B. S. in Nursing at Fitchburg State University, a master’s degree from Boston College, and her PhD in Nursing Research from University of Massachusetts Medical School. She has more than 30 peer reviewed publications, including three chapters in nursing texts and six research articles. She is a past president of the National Association of Orthopedic Nurses (NAON) and was recently awarded The Outstanding Contribution to Orthopedic Nursing. Dr. Patterson was part of the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurse’s Research Task Force on Safe Patient Handling and Movement (SPHM), working with The Veteran’s Administration, Tampa, NIOSH, ANA and ergonomic specialist to delineate high risk for injury tasks and develop algorithms for staff and patient safety. She continues to be nationally recognized for leadership and advancing orthopedic care.
Currently Dr. Patterson is serving as product owner of the 3M™ Ambulatory Potentially Preventable Complications (AM-PPCs) software for Solventum.
