About the Case

A 27-year-old female patient came to the endodontic specialist practice for root canal treatment of lower left first molar. Based on the overall analysis, the treatment plan included direct reconstruction of the mesial cavity wall with composite resin material and, then, single-visit root canal treatment and direct composite resin coronal restoration in the second visit.
Initial situation
After selectively etching the enamel, 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive was applied.
The entrance of the root canals and access cavity floor was covered with 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Flowable Restorative.
Preparation
3D printed view
3M™ Filtek™ One Bulk Fill Restorative was used to reconstruct the dentine base, for its low shrinkage stress and time saving features.
A ball burnisher was used to smooth the surface of the bulk fill material, before curing.

Application of adhesive
The occlusal part of the restoration was built, incrementally, using 3M™ Filtek™ Universal Restorative.
The handling properties of the nanofilled 3M™ Filtek™ Universal Restorative make anatomical shaping easy.
