Semiconductors

Reducing contaminants is crucial in semiconductor manufacturing. Any particles, undesirable metals or dissolved gases not removed during production can lead to defects, or even product recalls, down the road. You can count on the proven performance of Solventum filtration products for every step in your manufacturing process.

Silicon Wafers

Integrated circuits are made up of silicon wafers, which form the heart of most of today’s electronic devices. With increased demand comes an increased need for high-performance filtration and dissolved gas control in silicon wafer manufacturing. Solventum filtration solutions help silicon wafer manufacturers meet their process efficiency goals as well as the strict quality requirements of their electronics and semiconductor manufacturing customers.

Lithium-ion batteries

The demand for lithium-ion batteries is high and expected to keep growing. Virtually all battery-powered technologies use them, and the applications keep multiplying. A future with lighter, longer lasting and more reliable batteries will need better, more efficient contamination control. Solventum’s filtration products improve the manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries. Proper filter selection is required to remove particulate contaminants and gels from solvents, water and the high viscosity slurries used to form the electrodes. Filters are also needed to remove particle contamination during the electrolyte filling process.

Photovoltaics

In parallel with the growing demand for renewable energy is the growing need to use resources like water sustainably. You need to keep pace with high-quality PV cell production using water to ensure all damaging particles are removed while also maintaining responsible use of that precious resource. Solventum filters eliminate impurities in the chemical baths that degrade the PV surface’s electrical properties. Solventum filtration products help achieve contamination control for chemical, gas and water applications such as recirculating baths, single pass systems, high velocity jet spray systems, mechanical scrubbing systems and quick dump rinse systems.

Printed wire boards

Wire board manufacturing involves a complex precision process that is subject to contamination at every step. Any inadequacy in the filtration system could contaminate the manufacturing process and the product. And that can affect the short- and long-term performance of your circuit boards. Solventum filtration solutions can help ensure that your wire board manufacturing will meet your growing performance needs.

Displays

Edge beveling is an important step in your display manufacturing process. Not treating glass edges after a cut leaves them sharp and makes the glass vulnerable to damage. Smoothing the edges with abrasives creates particles that need to be removed from the process. Solventum has the filtration and dissolved gas control solutions you need to help remove these harmful particles created during the edge beveling process.

Hard disk drives

If contaminants are the main adversary of quality microelectronic products like hard disk drives, then you need reliable, scalable, high-performance filtration. Our experts can show you how Solventum solutions may enable you to keep high levels of process integrity for your critical applications, whether your hard disk drives are for individual computers, server farms, data centers or cloud storage services.

Ceramic capacitors

Ultrapure water forms the beginning and end of the ceramic capacitor manufacturing process, with additional filtration needs in between. This is then followed by wastewater management. During manufacture, unwanted particles can have a big impact on the performance of the capacitor itself and that of the devices in which it is used. You can count on quality from the ceramic slurry to conductive printing, through cutting for final use with Solventum filtration solutions.
