Whether your patient has experienced a traumatic injury or requires sepsis management, the method of temporary abdominal closure you choose may play an important role in positive clinical and economic outcomes.2

Combining Negative Pressure Therapy provided by the 3M™ V.A.C.® Ulta Therapy Unit with the 3M™ AbThera SensaT.R.A.C. Dressing provides an active temporary abdominal closure system that removes fluids from the abdominal cavity and draws wound edges together. This TAC method helps you achieve primary fascial closure while protecting your patients’ abdominal contents from external contaminants.

Suggested Applications

  • Intended use of this system is in open abdominal wounds with exposed viscera, including, but not limited to, abdominal compartment syndrome.
  • Temporary bridging of abdominal wall openings where primary closure is not possible and/or repeat abdominal entries are necessary.
  • Intended care setting is a closely monitored area within the acute care hospital, such as the ICU. The abdominal dressing will most often be applied in the operating theater.
